• Mental Health/Performance: Technologies are being investigated to reverse conditions like PTSD and Alzheimer's through electrical stimulation, as well as to enable "hands-free" control of technology for military applications.

• AI Integration: Artificial intelligence is being employed to decode brain waves into text, effectively turning thoughts into actionable data. 

Ethical and Legal Concerns

• Privacy: The ability to read thoughts or monitor brain patterns raises concerns about cognitive liberty, leading to legal discussions and, in places like Colorado, laws designed to protect "neurorights".

• Control: The potential for technology to not just read, but also affect or alter thoughts and emotions is a major ethical concern, often described as a "two-part process" of breaking down a mind to insert a new one
